Business Solutions is a consulting team within the Pricing & Analytics division of AXA XL insurance.The overarching goals for the team are to discover, define, and direct analytics projects that increase the accuracy of pricing, the quality of underwriting, and the profitability of the company.Business Solutions connects the customer-facing arms of the enterprise to the technical and operational capabilities necessary to harness information, build tools, and generate insights.Business Solutions combines communications, coordination, facilitation, strategic thinking, and evangelism for data-driven decision-making.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
·Support the development and execution of advanced analytics projects that improve the ability of actuaries, underwriters, and other business unit leaders to market, evaluate, price, and manage commercial insurance policies;
·Organize and facilitate engagement with business stakeholders that will clarify analytics needs and define possible solutions;
·Foster communication among project team members to ensure that technical responses to analytics objectives reflect business purposes, requirements, and realities – and that internal customers are aware of necessary technical practicalities, timetables, and constraints;
·Identify and address technology, data, or organizational dependencies, complications, or barriers that hamper the expected completion of analytics projects;
·Assist with the development and deployment of training materials and processes that promote the adoption of analytic methods, tools, and outputs
·Conduct exploratory analyses of business data sets to evaluate the impact of completed projects or to identify potential opportunities for new ones.
You will report to a Business Partner within the Business Solutions team.

Required Skills and Abilities:
·Ability to work with global, multi-disciplinary teams, including analytics and information technology professionals;
·Ability to design, conduct, and present analyses of large, multi-faceted datasets that drive front-line business decisions;
·Interest in the creation, coordination, execution, and evangelism of data-driven, corporate improvement initiatives;
·Interest in current methods, technology, and processes for large-scale, corporate data analysis and model implementation;
·Compelling communications skills, written and oral;
·A diligent, detail-oriented, collaborative, and collegial approach to project execution;
·Interest in working to educate and convince audiences with a wide range of technical knowledge and at different levels on an organizational hierarchy;
·Abundant curiosity about corporate performance;
·Coding experience with a common programming language and the willingness to learn Python, if not already known;
·Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; and
·A bachelor’s degree, preferably in mathematics, physical sciences, computer science, or engineering.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
·Commercial insurance industry experience;
·Management and/or strategy consulting experience; and
·Experience with Machine Learning algorithms, particularly XGBoost.
