We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Platform and Visualization Engineer to join our Warsaw-based team.
This hybrid position blends the disciplines of data platform engineering and visualization platform administration (Tableau and Spotfire), enabling end-to-end data enablement from ingestion through analytics and dashboarding.
As part of a cross-functional environment, you will engage with data engineers, analysts, product managers, and business users to build secure, scalable data infrastructure, pipelines, APIs, and optimized visualization platforms.
You will also be instrumental in enhancing platform reliability, ensuring compliance, and empowering data-driven decisions at Moderna.
This role is ideal for a technically versatile engineer eager to work in a fast-paced and regulated environment—with close exposure to cutting-edge digital platforms, and the opportunity to explore and integrate with Generative AI tools.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data platform components such as ingestion SDKs, access control systems, APIs, and discovery tools.
Develop and manage robust ETL/ELT workflows to integrate data from diverse sources.
Establish and oversee AWS-based infrastructure (S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR, RDS) ensuring high availability, security, and observability.
Collaborate within cross-functional squads to deliver product-aligned features.
Own CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, testing, and production debugging.
Translate business requirements into technical deliverables in collaboration with product and analytics teams.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Administer and support Tableau and Spotfire platforms, managing provisioning, user groups, and permissions.
Implement and monitor role-based access control (RBAC) in compliance with data governance standards.
Optimize dashboard performance, extract refresh cycles, and system workloads.
Troubleshoot platform issues such as load time delays, user access problems, or connectivity errors.
Partner with data engineers to optimize SQL queries, data extracts, and live connections.
Create platform documentation, support materials, and lead internal training on dashboard best practices.

Minimum Requirements
2 years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or data visualization platform administration.
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, EMR, and RDS.
Proficient in Python, Spark, and SQL.
Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Spotfire
Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
