Job purpose:

In this role, the EMC Engineer will be responsible for the electronic EMC design ensuring high quality and suitability for harsh environments, specifically for Control Units and High Voltage Power Electronics products.

Your tasks will focus on design for EMC of all BorgWarner products meet customer requirements, and performing EMC verification and testing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and approve all electrical and EMC design requirements
  • Develop worst-case analysis
  • Draw complete schematics and finalize the Bill of Materials
  • Create and release documentation according to the Product Development Process
  • Follow in-house Bill of Design and accurately report status
  • Support Electrical DFMEA activities
  • Participate in EMC design review of projects developed in BorgWarner
  • Support the layout of Printed Circuit Boards by working closely with ECAD
  • Support Validation teams during Design Validation and Process Validation phases
  • Support Manufacturing and Test teams located in the manufacturing plants.
  • Develop EMC simulations together with simulation team.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute EMC tests.
  • Help in development and maintenance of EMC laboratory
  • Interact with customers.
  • Provide on-the-job training for other engineers.
  • Support to develop and execute the EMC pre-compliance tests.
  • Lead project execution activities in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate and interact with other BorgWarner sites across different regions.
  • Provide on-the-job training for other engineers.

What we are looking for

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Advanced in EMC domain
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Experience with effective problem-solving methodologies.
  • Previous design experience in Power Electronics is a plus.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office, CAD programs, and simulation tools.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Recruitment process

  • CV Review - Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your qualifications and experience in relation to the role requirements.
  • Phone Interview (approximately 30 minutes) - This initial conversation is designed to discuss your background, expectations, and answer any preliminary questions.
  • Technical Interview(s) (1 to 1.5 hours, one or two rounds) - Conducted in English with the manager and an additional team member, this stage focuses on evaluating your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

    The interview can be held via Teams or at our office.
  • Final Interview (45 minutes) - A meeting with a representative from the HR department to ensure alignment with our company culture and discuss the next steps.
