Overall Purpose of The JobThe role has oversight responsibility for the overall selection and recruitment process of various roles for respective sector, the use and development of the recruitment tools and systems in support of this, and the development of multiple recruitment channels in support of talent acquisition, including a broad range of social media channels and third-party agencies (TPAs).


A key deliverable of this position is to develop a strong recruitment network delivering against hiring requirements in relevant sector, to drive timely and efficient candidate acquisition as well as employer brand recognition.

Key Responsibilities and TasksUnder support of Global Recruitment Standards Manager, effectively and efficiently implements the Global Recruitment Strategy for crew sourcing in the sector, including digital sourcing strategy.
Under support of Global Recruitment Standards Manager, ensures sectoral recruitment activities are performed in adherence to Global Recruitment Policy and Processes, including utilization of defined recruitment tools and technologies.
Manages and develops sectoral recruitment team globally, including setting recruitment targets in conjunction with key stakeholders across the business in the relevant sector, to successfully deliver the hiring requirements to support strategic goals of V.
Forecasts future needs in conjunction with clients and/or internal planning teams, constantly adapts to manage short-, middle- and long-terms recruitment needs.
Supervises how the sectoral recruitment team proactively plans and implements short-, middle- and long-term recruitment.
Ensures regular one-to-one and team meetings with the recruitment team members are conducted where messages from Senior Management are shared so that all team members are aware of priorities and company trends.
Distributes the workload by assigning Recruitment Requests to the sectoral recruitment team members to maximize efficiency of operations.
Ensures records in recruitment systems and databases are correct and up-to-date.
Ensures proposals of seafarers submitted by the sectoral recruitment team are compliant and timely.
Delivers refresher and upgradation training to upskill recruitment resources at frequent intervals.
Manages the entire recruitment lifecycle, from recruitment request till planning / assignment stage.
Takes escalations related to sectoral recruitment.
(Offshore): Coordinates with Regional Crewing Operations Directors if the team needs to be strengthened to achieve set recruitment goals.
(Offshore): Coordinates with Senior Recruitment Managers for recruitment in respective regions, takes part in bi-annual and on request performance reviews of dedicated offshore recruitment resources.
Controls the performance and efficiency of the sectoral recruitment team by means of defined KPIs, PIs and productivity ratios and reports to business on the subject.
Drives operational excellence of sectoral recruitment by achieving and where possible exceeding recruitment KPIs and PIs thereby providing exceptional support to the business.
Collaborates with colleagues from other business functions (e.g. Planners, CMPs, CMMs, Assessors) on various operational matters.
Manages relationships with third-party partners – recruitment agencies, social media and job board partners, etc.

including supporting respective Crew Director in negotiations of prices with vendors and contracts' management.
Maintains strong relationships with key schools, university partners and third-party agencies (TPAs).
Manages and leads various local and international recruitment events aimed at the attraction of candidates, including crew events and school events.
Ensures that all hiring activities are undertaken observing local employment legislation, legislation of the territories in which V.Group operates, international conventions and regulations, V.Group ethics and values, Policies, Processes and Recruitment Strategy.
Performs other reasonable recruitment related duties assigned by the Global Recruitment Standards Manager.

    EssentialPossesses a bachelor’s degree or higher
    Significant direct sourcing and networking experience, minimum 7 years in similar role is required
    Previous experience managing multiple teams and managers, influencing skills
    Previous experience of in-house recruitment is essential
    Thorough knowledge of international conventions and regulations in shipping, the shipboard hierarchy, responsibilities, basic job descriptions and certification requirements for officers and ratings in accordance with STCW and MLC 2006, and knowledge of various flag state requirements, including familiarity with procedures for obtaining flag state CEC
    Understanding the role of the various international bodies, including but not limited to IMO, ILO, ITF, in the formulation of rules and regulations that govern the terms of employment of seafarers
    Strong familiarity with the organizational set-up of ITF and their relationship with various affiliated (seafarers) trade unions.

    Knowledge of applicable conditions of service and seafarers wage structure
    Strong understanding of Offshore / Leisure sector
    Strong experience of assessing and selecting the best possible talent
    Strong experience with Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, Power Point)
    Work with a strong sense of urgency; with the ability to switch priorities quickly where required
    Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to make change happen
    Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to influence and partner with a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders internationally
    A confident communicator with very strong command of English (verbal and written)
    Being able to plan tasks and follow tight timelines when required
