L2 Support Engineer with SQL



Job description

With the aim of providing easily customizable online pre-employment assessment tests, eSkill Corporation has developed into a global leader in employment-related skills testing.

eSkill provides organizations with a web-based skill testing service.

Specifically, the eSkill application lets hiring and training managers configure tests from our extensive subject library to match their hiring and training needs and reduce the risk of hiring failures and discrimination litigation.

We are now looking for someone who thrives on solving problems, enjoys digging into data, and bridges the gap between customer-facing and technical teams.


The Role


As an L2 Support Engineer with SQL, you will be the key connection between our Customer Success and Engineering teams.

Your job will be to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues that go beyond standard support - ensuring only the most complex problems reach Engineering.


You will work directly with highly technical colleagues, communicate with both internal stakeholders and occasionally customers, and continuously improve our internal documentation and processes.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to grow into a developer role over time.

Requirements

Must-haves:



  • Experience working in a Linux environment, comfortable with CLI and basic bash scripting.

  • SQL proficiency – able to read, write, and run simple queries safely (no schema or non-intentional data changes).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical teams.

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

  • Communicative Polish (to collaborate with local teams).

  • A habit of documenting your work clearly and thoroughly.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly interpret and analyze logs to understand system behavior and troubleshoot issues effectively.


 


Nice-to-haves:



  • Basic experience with Python or Java.

  • Understanding data manipulation and querying concepts.

  • Curiosity and motivation to grow into a developer role.

Responsibilities

What will you do?



  • Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues escalated by the CS team.

  • Reproduce bugs, analyze logs, and troubleshoot using internal tools.

  • Run and interpret SQL queries to verify and troubleshoot data-related problems.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to provide detailed, actionable issue reports.

  • Maintain clear and verbose documentation of all investigations, findings, and resolutions.

  • Identify recurring issues and propose process optimizations or product improvements.
