What's the role?
You will be part of a motivated engineering team working on map data processing.
The team is responsible for a data onboarding and updating software stack and is integrated in the context of Mapmaking.
We are handling typical map data, that is used for location services, such as navigation of vehicles and people (cars, transportation, and beyond).
You are working on geospatial data, using established and cutting- edge algorithms to improve our maps and enhance the map making machinery.
Geospatial Data modelling (including map semantics),data processing, using visualizations and analytic tools, geometric and geospatial algorithms, etc.
are your daily business.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and hands on implementation of tools for efficient geospatial data processingWorking with geospatial data across various use cases, including analysis and interpretation of map dataServing as a technical authority and mentor, supporting the growth of engineers in the team and across multiple teamsPartner with product, architecture, and leadership to translate business goals into actionable engineering plansOwn software components and take responsibility on their further developmentPresenting developments and results for technical and non-technical audienceSet and uphold high standards for engineering practices, code quality, and team collaborationInfluence platform-wide technology decisions and drive the adoption of best practicesBe part of an agile team, share knowledge, carry out code reviews.Establish transparency around execution, risk, & issues Who are you?
Master or higher with a technical/analytical discipline, preferably in GIScience/Geoinformatics, Computer Science or related fields8+ years of software engineeringStrong applied skills in Java, SQL, nice-to-have Scala and Python Familiar with AI and ML methodsExperienced in Data modelling especially for geospatial map dataStrong understanding of geospatial data formats and map semanticsStrong technical background and understanding of software development processes & system architecture (.
CI/CD, code reviews, Git) including the knowledge/usage of cloud infrastructure (.
AWS)Experienced in geospatial standards (.
