Job description


At STX Next, Data Engineers are creative problem-solvers who thrive at the intersection of data, innovation, and technology.

You’ll join a dedicated team that transforms data into valuable systems, addressing clients' needs and elevating the experience for end users.


As a Data Engineer, you’ll work closely with international clients, providing both consultancy and technical architecture to shape reliable, high-performance data solutions.

You’ll handle everything from large data sets to distributed systems, setting a high bar for data quality.

Responsibilities




  • Develop innovative solutions for complex data challenges, using creativity and technology.




  • Design and build data systems that fulfill client requirements and optimize user experience.




  • Collaborate across teams to integrate unique approaches and out-of-the-box thinking into problem-solving.




  • Serve as a trusted consultant and architect for customized data solutions for global clients.




  • Handle large-scale data processing and manage distributed systems to ensure reliability and performance.




  • Uphold high standards of data quality and refine approaches to align with best practices.




  • Foster a culture of collaboration, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.



Requirements


Technical expertise




  • Proficiency in Apache Spark for distributed data processing and optimization of big data workloads.




  • Hands-on experience with AWS Glue for ETL  processes and data catalog management.




  • Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka for building and managing real-time data streaming pipelines.




  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code, including provisioning and managing AWS resources.




  • Familiarity with Debezium for real-time data integration and change data capture from databases.




  • Working knowledge of Amazon EKS for deploying and managing containerized applications in a Kubernetes environment.




  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.




  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, or Redshift).




Software development practices




  • Proficiency in Python 3.x or Scala, with knowledge of advanced Python constructs (e.g., lambda functions, generators, list comprehensions).




  • Core understanding of object-oriented programming principles.




  • Experience with threading and multi-process computation.




  • Familiarity with Git for version control and Docker for containerization.

  • Good communication skills in English (minimum B2).
