Job description

Job Description

Join Zendesk and Help Build the IT Asset Management Integrations Platform

Zendesk is building a new IT Asset Management (ITAM) product designed to help companies track, manage, and automate their IT assets at scale.

As part of this effort, we are forming the
ITAM Integrations sub-team, responsible for building the platform that connects Zendesk with the many third-party systems our customers use to manage their IT assets.

We're looking for a frontend-leaning Software Engineer who is eager to grow and ready to contribute to this new team.

You’ll help build the UI for configuring integrations, managing asset workflows, and monitoring system health.

You'll work closely with backend engineers and product designers to ensure a smooth, cohesive user experience and build powerful, intuitive tools for enterprise users.

This is an opportunity to work on a zero-to-one product within a well-established company.

You’ll contribute to a platform that brings third-party data into Zendesk, enabling automation and visibility across the asset lifecycle — from procurement to retirement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain high-quality frontend features and components for the ITAM Integrations Platform.

  • Collaborate with backend engineers to create seamless, user-friendly workflows for integrating with external IT asset systems.

  • Implement intuitive user interfaces for configuration, mapping, data sync visualization, and workflow automation.

  • Participate in system design discussions, UI architecture decisions, and integration patterns.

  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable JavaScript/TypeScript and React code.

  • Ensure frontend performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across different browsers and devices.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to shape the frontend experience and deliver scalable solutions.

  • Participate in agile team ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

  • Learn from and contribute to a collaborative, supportive engineering culture that values growth and mentorship.

What You Bring to the Role

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on frontend or full-stack development.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.

  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Redux, and GraphQL.

  • Experience building and maintaining scalable, component-based UI architectures.

  • Familiarity with frontend testing tools and libraries (e.g., Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library).

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in UI performance and state management.

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL for frontend-backend communication.

  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with backend, product, and design peers.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS products, especially in the IT or asset management space.

  • Experience building UIs for data-intensive applications, admin consoles, or integration configuration tools.

  • Exposure to backend technologies (Ruby on Rails, MySQL) and an interest in full-stack growth.

  • Understanding of API-driven platforms or integrations tooling.

  • Experience working with observability and logging tools (e.g., DataDog).

Tech Stack You’ll Work With

  • Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, GraphQL

  • Backend (partner teams): Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Kafka

  • DevOps & Monitoring: CI/CD tools, DataDog

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes

Why You Should Apply

  • Help shape a brand-new product with greenfield frontend development opportunities.

  • Build intuitive, modern UIs that make enterprise-grade asset management easy and powerful.

  • Join a team at the center of Zendesk’s next phase of growth and innovation.

  • Learn from experienced engineers and grow your technical and product skills.

  • Enjoy the support of a hybrid-friendly culture that respects work-life balance.
