Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking a talented hands-on Software Engineering Manager to join our Privacy & GRC Engineering team.
You will manage a team of engineers, oversee development projects, and ensure continuous improvement of our processes.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
Oversee and manage the engineering team's performance and growth, providing regular feedback and development opportunitiesLead the development and enhancement of products and cloud servicesHire, develop, and manage a high-performing teamProvide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers to help them reach their potentialContribute to the technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirementsCollaborate with product managers, software architects, user experience designers, software engineers, and stakeholders to form technical solutions and align quality goals with business objectivesSoftware Development / Project Management
Plan and manage software development releasesCollaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define requirementsEstablish and drive product release plansApply Agile methodologies to enhance development processesPromote collaboration through open/inner source development modelsPerformance and Team Management
Monitor team performance to ensure successful project completionFoster effective communication and address technical issuesInspire and motivate team members for maximum productivity and creativitySupport career development paths and opportunities for team membersTechnical Leadership
Actively engage in development tasks and engineering workDrive continuous improvement in processes, methodologies, and practicesApply continuous attention to technical excellence, secure coding principles and good design, resulting in a straightforward solution and reducing complexityConduct regular reviews and audits of processes to identify areas for improvementCollaboration and Communication
Foster a culture of quality and accountability across the organizationCommunicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on testing progress and quality metricsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality practices into the development lifecycleMinimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on data platforms, infrastructure or distributed systemsExperience integrating data and automating processes.
(REST APIs, ETL pipelines)Expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to Lambda, Glue, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, S3, IAM etcProficiency in Python programming languageExperience with Snowflake data warehousingExperience with monitoring and observability (Splunk, Cloudwatch, Dynatrace) Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience (Jenkins, Github, Artifactory)Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform/CloudFormation or Serverless frameworkProven track record of designing and implementing scalable and secure data solutionsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issuesCommunicate and collaborate effectively in Agile/Scrum teams while upholding code quality standards and best practicesPreferred Qualifications
1+ year of managerial experience, including overseeing teams, handling projects, and demonstrating leadership skills Experience working with vendors#LI-MM1

Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
