The Manager of European Tactical Transport Planning plays a pivotal role in driving data and analysis-driven decision making within the transportation department.
The role involves tactically planning, optimizing and reporting on all inbound, intracompany and outbound transportation via sea and road.
This role takes responsibility for managing a small team of analysts to harness transportation data, generate insights, and develop strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation operations.
Leading transport optimization in line with transportation execution, key performance indicators (KPIs) and budget.
Ensuring alignment with all relevant stakeholders in order to identify and implement optimizations.
Managing a team and setting clear goals and objectives in alignment with the organization’s overall strategy.
Monitoring and managing service level agreements (SLAs) with third-party logistics providers to ensure compliance and maintain high service standards.
Analyzing transportation data to identify trends, bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
Utilizing analytical tools and systems such as OTM, OTM LNM (Logistic Network Modeller), Power BI and SQL to support data-driven decision-making and continuous transport process improvements.
Overseeing and challenging results of the analyses, as well as using these results to convince or persuade others.
Collaborating with LKQ regions to ensure the quality and accuracy of data.
Optimizing utilization and allocation of resources to maximize operational efficiency and minimize costs.
Conducting periodic reviews of tactical transport planning processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimization and implement the necessary changes.
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in data analytics in the manufacturing/logistics industry.
Understanding of European transport operations.
Knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python and Power BI.
Experience with OTM (Oracle Transportation Management).
Experience of logistics network modelling tools.
Experience of working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Assertiveness, logical and solution-oriented thinking, and confidence in managing complexity.
Experience of working in a complex, matrix organisational structure.
Ability to work with complex data sets and system structures to identify inefficiencies and implement data-based improvements.
Proficient in written and spoken English
Prior experience in transport/logistics optimisation and improvement analysis.
Familiarity with transport-related KPIs and operations.
Experience of leading a team.
Experience with OTM LNM.
Stable employment in a well-recognized, international company.
Hybrid working model (minimum 2 days/week in the Katowice office).
